NISC Named Among Computerworld’s Best Places to Work in IT for 18th Straight Year

Lake Saint Louis, Mo., July 12, 2021 – National Information Solutions Cooperative (NISC), a leading provider of software solutions to utility and broadband providers, was named a Best Place to Work in Information Technology (IT) by IDG Insider Pro and Computerworld, ranking no. 7 among midsize organizations (1,001 – 4,999 employees). 2021 marks NISC’s 18th straight year on the list and 19th recognition overall.

“Being recognized on Computerworld’s list of Best Places to Work in IT is an incredible honor and not something we take lightly,” said NISC President and CEO Dan Wilbanks. “It has undoubtedly been a challenging year and a half, but our employees never wavered in their mission to serve our Members. I’m so proud of their efforts to innovate in the face of adversity and to continue upholding and preserving the strong culture of NISC in a time when many of us have been serving our Members virtually and collaborating through technology.”

Since 1994, the annual Best Places to Work in IT feature has ranked the top 100 work environments for technology professionals. The list is compiled based on a comprehensive questionnaire regarding company offerings in categories such as benefits, career development, training and retention. In addition, IDG conducted extensive surveys of NISC’s IT workers, and their responses factored heavily in determining the rankings.

“Despite the overwhelming obstacles the pandemic has created for many businesses, IT has managed to thrive and in fact, become more essential in the workplace. Attracting and retaining top IT talent to research, deploy and maintain technology has never been more critical,” said Kate Hoy, editor of IDG’s Insider Pro. “Companies that have earned a spot on the Insider Pro and Computerworld 2021 Best Places to Work in IT list have been able to foster nimble and flexible work environments – while continuing to keep competitive compensation and benefits steady. Additionally, they foster a spirit of diversity, social responsibility, training and innovation.”

NISC also ranked no. 8 on Computerworld’s Top 10 list of employers dedicated to employee training and skills development. Other recent workplace achievements for NISC include being named a 2021 Top 10 Workplace by the Bismarck-Mandan Young Professionals Network and ranking fourth among large employers on the St. Louis Post-Dispatch’s list of Top Workplaces in the St. Louis metropolitan area.
