NISC Member Information Conference to host more than 2,600 in downtown St. Louis

National Information Solutions Cooperative (NISC), a leading provider of software and solutions to utility and telecommunication companies, will again host its annual learning event, the Member Information Conference (MIC), in downtown St. Louis from Sept. 23-26 at the America’s Center.

This year, a record-number of attendees are set to descend upon St. Louis, bringing together more than 2,600 NISC Member organization employees, NISC staff, invited guests and exhibitors for a four-day conference featuring more than 180 concurrent sessions and two inspirational general sessions.

“Each year, we work hard to make the MIC even better than the previous one,” said Susan Imm, NISC vice president of Member and Industry. “Our emphasis is always on learning and ensuring our Members are getting the most out of NISC solutions. We’re excited to have several new learning opportunities available for Members this year, along with sessions tailored to a wide range of roles including accounting, cybersecurity, engineering, customer care and more.”

The theme for this year’s MIC is ‘next’ – showcasing what’s next in emerging technologies and how NISC will continue to help Members tackle industry challenges through innovative solutions and superior support.

Highlights:

Sessions
From accounting and billing to engineering and all points in-between, the 2019 MIC will provide more than 180 sessions on the latest enhancements to NISC solutions, updates on the technology roadmap and discussions of issues facing the utility and telecom industries. This year, we’re excited to have 68 NISC Members leading sessions and sharing best practices with fellow attendees, yet another record-breaking statistic.

Partner Pavilion
As the hub for the MIC’s events, the Partner Pavilion is home to NISC’s Consulting Booth and Innovations Lab, where attendees can meet with NISC subject matter experts, as well as more than 40 exhibiting partners and vendors showcasing a variety of solutions and services valuable to Member organizations.

Opening General Session
NEW DATE/TIME – Mon., Sept. 23 at 5 p.m. | Vern Dosch, President and CEO of NISC
For 17 years, Dosch has fearlessly led NISC, instilling a culture of servant leadership and a focus on putting Members first. In that time, he has guided NISC and our Membership through numerous challenges, mergers, acquisitions and triumphs. During his final Opening General Session, Dosch will share what’s next for NISC and for our industries.

March to the Arch Charitable Run/Walk
Tues., Sept. 24 at 6 a.m.
Attendees will kickstart a full day of learning with some exercise as NISC’s Leadership team hosts a #CoopStrong run/walk to the St. Louis Arch! Proceeds for the event will be donated to two local charities in the St. Louis area – Crisis Nursery Saint Louis and Birthday Joy.

Let’s Zoo This!
Tues., Sept. 24 at 6 p.m.
NISC will host a one-of-a-kind, exclusive event and explore the zoo in an after-hours, private zoo experience. This trip will provide unique experiences, including the opportunity to interact with several of the zoo’s favorite and most fun animal friends and private animal shows.

MICfest at Busch Stadium
Wed., Sept. 25 at 6 p.m.
While the St. Louis Cardinals are away, MIC attendees will play…ball! The 2019 MICfest will offer an evening of food, fun and music at the magnificent Busch Stadium in downtown St. Louis. Attendees can take a swing in the batting cages, meet and greet with Cardinals alumni and dance the night away as GRAMMY Award-winning country superstar Joe Diffie plays his chart-topping hits.

Closing General Session
Thurs., Sept. 26 at 9 a.m. | Jon Dorenbos, Former NFL Player, Television Personality & World Class Magician
When a life-threatening heart condition ended his football career in 2017, Jon focused on his host of other skillsets, winning two Emmy awards for his work as a television show host and captivating audiences with his magic shows and public speaking. In this riveting session, Jon will share his story of perseverance and courage, and maybe even a few magic tricks to close out a great week at the 2019 MIC!
