2022 NISC MIC Kickoff: Shifting to What's Possible - National Information Solutions Cooperative (NISC)

2022 NISC MIC Kickoff: Shifting to What’s Possible

Nashville, Tenn., Sept. 27, 2022 – When NISC President and CEO Dan Wilbanks took the stage during the Opening General Session of the 2022 National Information Solutions Cooperative (NISC) Member Information Conference (MIC), his message was clear – NISC’s top commitment is to our Members. During the keynote address, his focus was on delivering iVUE Connect to Members and making sure they get the most out of their Membership.

The 2022 MIC, which began on Sept. 26, takes place in Nashville, Tenn. For the first time in the history of the over 50-year-old technology cooperative, the MIC has a sold-out crowd of more than 3,000 attendees, a MIC record, indicating a strong interest in NISC’s solutions and reinforcing the value of continued learning and collaboration across the utility and broadband industries.

Wilbanks updated attendees on the latest developments of the robust NISC enterprise system and outlined the vision of NISC going forward.

“We made a commitment to provide the Membership with the technology they need to be successful today – and we have a solid strategic direction driving a great many developments to ensure Member success in the future,” Wilbanks said. “We feel we have the right people in the right positions to make a difference.”

Wilbanks also took the opportunity to discuss how the world has changed over the past two years, and how NISC shifted its thinking to what’s possible and responded by forging new ways to support the Members as they brought critical services to their communities. He also focused on the new process-driven product simplification initiative and the cooperative’s renewed focus on value.

“This past February, we returned nearly $5.6 million in capital credits to you,” Wilbanks said. “Reflection on the last 18 months can all be summed up simply with the word ‘grateful.’ We’re in a strong position operationally and financially – and we work for and with some really great people.”

As Wilbanks wrapped up his address, he acknowledged at the end of the day, the most important thing is people – NISC’s Members and taking care of NISC’s employees so they can take care of Members’ needs and help them get the most value out of being an NISC Member.

The NISC MIC will run through Sept. 29 and is hosted at the Gaylord Opryland Resort in Nashville. The week of learning will feature more than 140 engaging sessions led by both NISC Members and staff, powerful general sessions and countless ways to network with peers in the industry.
