Mandan, N.D., Sept. 30, 2025 — National Information Solutions Cooperative (NISC) has been recognized by Prairie Business magazine as one of the 50 Best Places to Work in the northern Plains. Earlier this year, employees nominated companies by submitting an anonymous employee satisfaction survey, which sought out input on each employer’s benefits, workplace culture and employee morale, among other factors. In all, Prairie Business received more than 1,600 nominations.
“We are always excited to see so many participants in the annual contest,” said Prairie Business Editor Carrie McDermott. “It is good to see the many companies that have been here before, but also to see new names on the list. This goes to show that there are some great companies in our region.”
This year’s 50 Best are highlighted in the September issue of the magazine, which also is available as an e-edition at prairiebusinessmagazine.com.
NISC has also been awarded a Top Workplaces 2025 honor by Iowa Top Workplaces 2025. This list is based solely on employee feedback gathered through a third-party survey administered by employee engagement technology partner Energage LLC. The confidential survey uniquely measures the employee experience and its component themes, including employees feeling “Respected & Supported”, “Enabled to Grow”, and “Empowered to Execute”, to name a few.
“Earning a Top Workplaces award is a badge of honor for companies, especially because it comes authentically from their employees,” said Eric Rubino, Energage CEO. “That’s something to be proud of. In today’s market, leaders must ensure they’re allowing employees to have a voice and be heard. That’s paramount. Top Workplaces do this, and it pays dividends.”
“We are honored to receive these awards since the judges were our employees themselves,” said Kari Reichert, Chief People Officer for NISC. “We are constantly looking for ways to bring a more fulfilling experience to the staff at NISC, as they are the cornerstone of NISC’s success. Awards like this are an affirmation we are working in the right direction to ensure our employees feel appreciated and empowered.”
