What is NISC’s User Services System & What Makes It Different Than the Rest?

With the NISC User Services System (USS), operating your broadband service offerings at peak efficiency and providing true customer care and support of the Internet of Things (IoT) is now a reality. This Auto Configuration Server (ACS) management solution is a powerful, hardware-independent, cloud-based tool built to truly enhance your customers’ internet experience and reduce your truck rolls and customer support expense. With NISC’s USS, your organization can effectively resolve broadband service interruptions, or even correct them before the customers become aware of an issue, by managing the internet gateway and the devices behind it that connect to your broadband service. The power of this solution comes from enabling your customers to leverage those same tools – view their broadband usage, resolve connectivity issues, manage devices and receive alerts – to help them better understand the services you provide and satisfy their needs largely on their own.

NISC’s USS is based strictly on the Broadband Forum’s TR-069 standards. To date, USS has been integrated with more than 330 different device types from more than 40 vendors. These devices include fixed line, optical, fixed wireless gateways, WiFi access points and modems as well as IP set-top boxes. USS is capable of performing full lifecycle management of customer premise equipment (CPE) regardless of the access technology through which services are delivered.

A unique capability of USS is the fully automated test execution capability that supports FCC performance testing across more than 50 devices from nearly a dozen vendors, a number of which are capable of supporting gigabit speed testing to support reporting to the Universal Services Administration Company (USAC) Performance Measures Module (PMM) as administrator of the FCC compliance program. USS leverages the Broadband Forum’s TR-143 and TR-181 standards to implement a simplified test execution capability. The solution allows for import of test sites directly from the PMM Randomizer into USS, and import directly from USS into the PMM. The USS test results are generated automatically at the conclusion of required test cycles.

When compared to others, NISC’s USS is second to none in breadth of support of TR-069 ready vendor and device types – and supports the broadest set of CPE devices already deployed in production environments for FCC compliance testing.

What does this all mean to your organization?

Simply put: You can save money – and time. You can reduce the cost of compliance by reducing the investment required to deploy function specific devices alongside already deployed CPE. It means you can instantly start reaping the benefits without truck rolls and swapping out of costly equipment.

And beyond that, NISC’s USS brings many other great benefits to its users, from powerful reporting tools to customer self-care functionality.
