National Information Solutions Cooperative (NISC), a leading provider of information technology products and services to utilities and telecommunications organizations, has been listed by IDG’s
Computerworld magazine as one of the
100 best workplaces for IT professionals in the United States for the 10th time. This year, NISC is ranked 54th overall.
“What makes these results so significant is that they weigh heavily on extensive surveys conducted directly with our employees,” said Vern Dosch, CEO and President of NISC. “Our employees say that the number one reason they like to work at NISC is the people; their colleagues here at work and the Member-Owners we serve. We have a great deal to the thankful for—today, an additional item to add to that list is the gift that our employees have given us by way of this Computerworld recognition.”
Computerworld has recognized NISC as one of the best places to work in IT for 10 of the past 11 years. The technology magazine cites NISC’s dedication to its shared values - integrity, relationships, innovation, teamwork, empowerment and personal development - as one of the main reasons employees enjoy working for the organization.
"The organizations on this year's Best Places to Work in IT list consistently seek out and hire the most talented IT people, offer them competitive pay and provide great benefits," said Scot Finnie, editor in chief of
Computerworld. "Many of these organizations have spent years building top-notch IT workplaces, and we applaud the amazing work they've done to sustain dynamic environments where IT professionals can work with the latest technologies and play a key role in business-critical projects."
NISC was also recognized for the variety of employee training opportunities - including a tuition reimbursement that covers a bachelor’s or master’s degree and an annual employee learning quarter – as well as the ability to contribute new ideas to a company focused on new and upcoming technologies.
Doug Remboldt, NISC’s Vice President of Utility Solutions and Shared Services, told
Computerworld that it’s easy for employees to have a sense of accomplishment every day at NISC. “A part of our annual review is based on our relationships and how we help each other,” said Remboldt. “It's part of our culture. We know we're growing our organization simply by taking care of our customers.”
